Two Teams – Epic Story
OK – so the initial goal has been a success. We had around 100 participants, taking part across 10 days in 2 teams. And the Website worked, everyone was able to log their steps, we Read more…
At City2City we want you to have fun taking part in a virtual step challenge as part of a team. Our first challenge is a 2 team competition where daily steps are combined into kilometers and mapped onto our route.
Solo – You are ready for you rown Solo Adventure, Maybe you would like to take on the Appalachain Trail in the US, Lands-End to John-o-Groats in the UK, or Top to Toe through Ireland. Why not track your daily steps and map those each day.
Family Competition – You can create a one team challenge and add all your steps together, but why not add a bit of fun and compete with your family members as individual Teams.
Teams – We can offer fixed size team challenges, where all steps from each team are totalled up, but maybe you’d like a bigger team and only take the top 10 steppers each day to add their totals to the team distance – that way everyone can take a day off, we recommend this approach if you are looking for an inclusive team challenge.
Steps become distance travelled – When we set up your campaign the steps:km ration can be adjusted, as standard we use 1,250 steps = 1km. Whichever style of challenge you choose, we total up, solo, team or whole group steps and plot the progrss onto one of our interactive Maps.
#note:- Maps are updated daily, you can however pan and zoom as well as click to hide and show data.
Campaign Sites – Each Campaign has it’s own page, where details about the event are displayed. The event organiser can customise the Virtual Postcards to add to the fun and engagement, give updates to the competitors or to remind people about fund raising.
Record each days stesp – some people will report steps at the end of the day, and others first thing each morning – your access to report your steps willbe via the Campaign Page and wil require you to use both a competitor ID and a passcode, these will be provided in the Competitors pack on day-1 of the event.
For the over achievers – You don’t have to travel the whole route, campaigns can be set to an initial distance for example, teams of 10 travelling 1000km in 10 days – in these cases choosing a longer means we set the 1000km Finish Line, but the over achievers can continue on beyond that.
Team Captains – Are key to motivating and organising their team. They can add team members (up to the team limit) and check on the access details incase someone loses their competitor pack details.
How to get the most out of this journey – You and your team meates will get the best experience when you actively take part. Sending messages to encourage one another and sharing any stories you have of places you may have visited in real life.
